What you need to know…
The Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) 482 visa is a temporary, employer sponsored visa for skilled foreign workers employed in specified occupations and allows employers to sponsor workers with suitable skills and qualifications where a suitable Australian worker cannot be sourced.
Applicants must be working full time (at least 38 hours per week) and have at least two years’ work experience in their skilled occupation.
Permanent residency pathway…
The TSS 482 visa offers some pathways to permanent residency, making it an appealing option for our medical specialists who wish to remain in Australia on a longer term basis.
The TSS 482 visa has 3 streams – short, medium and labour agreement. The majority of doctors will fall under the medium stream category which may lead to a four years’ visa and a route to permanent residency.
What about my family?
Family may be included in the TSS 482 visa as secondary applicants. This includes spouse or de facto partner, dependent children under 18 years of age, and dependent children over 18 years of age in certain circumstances.
